IF I SAY I LIKE HILLARY, WILL TRUMP DEMAND THAT I BE INVESTIGATED BY THE HOUSE? 'CAUSE THAT WOULD BE WAY COOL.

Good evening friends. Although you might not think so after reading the title.
I know. I am risking life and limb by, well saying, you know, I like, a sleazy, lying bitch. But I do.

Isn't that I nice thing to say? Unless of course if the person he shot would have voted for him. Then he lost one.

The reason I don't care is that they all are.

You see, all women are sleazy lying bitches, well deep down even though we won't admit it. So, I say, go girl. We all get away with it, so should you.

Please do not ask me what I have done to qualify. I'd have to lie and then someone would say, uh, no, man, she's lying. Then, I'd have to try to cover it up because it's bad to lie. Only it gets worse when you try to cover it up. Ask Martha Stewart.

See. Whether they did or didn't do anything, or "get caught", we have spent millions of dollars investigating them. Why? Couldn't they spend it on something that might actually benefit us?

What I don't understand, not really, is why no one is calling the men lying, sleazy bitches. okay. Not bitches. Bastards? No, we don't want to insult their mothers because it's clear how we just worship women.

Alright. Does anyone actually believe that someone who has either achieved great wealth or become a heavy hitter in politics, they have never lied, cheated, profited or made a dirty deal?

Be honest. Even if no one else is.

Given this fact. Let's check out some others.

One:
Everyone running for president of the United States is a liar and a cheat and at least one of them has had an extra-marital affair. Does the name Marla rings any bells?
Two:
That makes them equal in this area.
Three:
One candidate has a tremendous amount of experience in politics and understands how our government works. One does not.

Question. If you were hiring someone for a job in your house or business, and they were both equally qualified on question number one, would you choose the more experienced person? Or the one told you what you want to hear? Even though you know the person lies?
The sad part of this question is that you have to hire someone. And, these are your only two choices.

Of course, you could walk down fifth avenue and ask Donald to shoot you and get it over with.

Just saying.

PS.  If they would like to investigate me it would cost a lot less and it would end up with no indictment. So, let's save the government money. I will volunteer because I'm a true patriot.

Thanks for reading.

FEAR OF FARTING YEAH PASSING GAS IS P.C. BUT WHY DO WE NEED TO BE PC ON A NOT SO EASY TO CONTROL BIOLOGICAL ACT?

Fear of Farting. Actually, we use that term when we are being politically incorrect. If we are in polite society we might say, passing gas or breaking wind. Or ignore it. That’s the most usual way, especially when not with good friends or immediate family.

The scientific study of this area of medicine is termed flatology.

Okay. That’s not something I’d want on my resume. Nor did I even know that such an area existed.  I told you that you can get an education here.

My question is: why is it that people are so uptight about our biological functions?

THEORY:

Human beings want to believe they are not animals, therefore, they repudiate basic biological functions. (Meaning, like, me? My body? Um, no, it doesn’t do that).

HYPOTHESIS:

If we make fun of, or hide, bodily functions, we distance ourselves from our true animal nature which we find disagreeable, as we believe we are “above” such things.  (Meaning, I can think, I have a big brain, I am not an animal, and I am a human which is way, way better.)

I chose to use the biology of flatulence to demonstrate my hypothesis.

Imagine a yoga class, early in the morning. Forty people are bending and stretching and yeah, probably experiencing flatulence. Every once in a while, in the quiet, you hear one that refuses to be kept in. No one says a word. Everyone notices.  No it wasn’t me. Although it could have been, why should that bother me?

The accepted term for having excess gas, is flatulence. There is no medical term equivalent to farting.

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED), in its inimitable way, notes that the word "fart" is "not in decent use." The OED defines the transitive verb form of fart: "To send forth as wind from the anus 1632." The word comes from the Old English "feortan" (meaning "to break wind"). Although the word "fart" is "not in decent use," it was used by the likes of the great English poet Geoffrey Chaucer.

The noises commonly associated with flatulence ("Blowing a raspberry") are caused by the vibration of anal sphincters, and occasionally by the closed buttocks. Both the noise and smell associated with flatus leaving the anus can be sources of embarrassment or comedy in many cultures.

A very small history of flatulence.

Historical comment on the ability to fart at will is observed as early as Saint Augustine's The City of God (5th century AD).

Okay.  That’s what I meant by small.

The rest of the blog will hopefully be images taken off the net. They pretty much say it better than words.

Why are we such snobs? When we have instinctual urges we feel as though our bodies are betraying us.

Yes, I do understand not wanting to be around a really smelly fart. That doesn't mean we have to point our fingers and laugh.

I wonder if we weren't more accepting of our animal aspects, if we would have fewer overeaters, under eaters, bathroom issues like constipation and diarrhea. Sorry, I guess it's one of those who gives a shit days. HA!

I'm not advocating for walking around naked or peeing in the streets. Although there are many what we consider undeveloped countries where they do just that.

I'm only saying that we might be better off accepting who and what we are. Animals are territorial. Our wars may be a distortion of that instinct.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Our wars are for profit. The ones who have to fight them think about it as territorial.

How can we tame the beast inside? Sometimes, acceptance is the first step.
You can't change what you don't acknowledge.

We Are Animals. Let's Deal With It.

Thanks for reading.

I have a new address. And I think I can stay here too. Does that mean I'm bi-blogal?

Alright. I'm working on it. I do have, I believe, a blog on WordPress.

I'm working out the deets which could take , forever. It's so different.

I think there is a way to direct my readers from here to there. I just have so many printed directions and instructions that I have to go through them. But first I need an Irish coffee at 10am. This is bad.

They said I should tell my friends.  that I just installed a website on wordpress and it had an https.  All my own. Isn't that exciting?

I hope you can put it into a search and it should come up since there aren't that many sites with this ridiculous name. I'm babbling. Sorry.

http://www.drgsridiculoustheories.com

at the end it says via Softaculous with a hash tag. But I think that's just for them to advertise.

So, I'll keep you posted. Which is actually a pun. Since this is a post. I'm cracking myself up today. Or I've cracked up.

anyway, thanks for reading.

IF A POLITICAL PARTY INVESTIGATES A POLITICIAN, WHO PAYS?

Who remember Ken Starr? Nice suit he's wearing, yeah?

Good morning everyone.  I feel like going on a rant. Want to come along?

I remember when Bill Clinton was president. One thing I can agree on was that he was a man who had trouble keeping it in his pants.  Apparently he is not the only elected official with this type of problem, (or person) but since the press finally decided (or were told)  they could print anything they heard or knew, he was probably of the first presidents to be treated to this type of exposure. That could be a pun, or double entendre.

It didn't matter that the job that he was doing as a public official was good. It happened because of our delightful two party system.

Where does that term come from? Party?  Maybe, like when you're a teen and you have lots of friends, and like three of them are having a party on the same night and oh my God, you have to decide which one to go to. Oh no. Who do I like best? or. Where will I be seen by more people, or maybe, I have to find out where the person I want to hook up will be?

So, I have to choose a party. So.  I choose,  Me.  I'm so overwhelmed, I stay home.  Most people are not like me. At least I like to think so.

I am not in the mood to do research, so you can ,or you can just be as annoyed as I am, at what has become essentially a two party system of self serving politic rats, who seem to believe that they are serving their country by tearing it apart.

It isn't just the US. The whole world seems to be going crazy. Well, going broke which caused them to go crazy. In the past, when a country went broke, it used to go to war so it could steal resources from its enemies or anyone they could beat up. Or possibly conquer. That worked for ages, right up to this common era.  All the way up to Viet Nam.  Then things changed. War had been, well sort of civilized. There had been rules of combat. Certain conditions had been in place since the beginning of time and although there were always exceptions to those rules, you had some sense of what was okay and what wasn't. Idiotic as it may have been, it was.

Then comes the War on Terror. There are no longer rules, although we still seem to expect the "enemies" to adhere to some of them. That too should be another post, so I'll stop here.

People say that wars are fought for Religion, but really, it's always about money and power.

In my opinion, Muslim extremists want the power to keep their women in Birkas and control everything in their homes and lives. After seeing what they have of Western culture, I can't say that I blame their ideas about it. Their tactics, well, no thanks.

my train went off the track. get used to it.

I suppose I should first wonder how a country goes broke. Regardless of how many political parties, or how few, countries do have faltering economies.  Again. I am not doing any research.

However, my title at least gives us a clue on some of what the USA has been spending my tax dollars on.

I am sure that the Democrats are no better. It's just that these are the two law suits and investigations I'm familiar with, so I've use these as examples.

At this point it doesn't matter. It seems that each party is going for broke. Ha Ha Ha! They use their dollars to sling mud at the other candidates. Another good use of money. And, another good reason to DVR everything. We had some bitter fights here last year, and every other minute there was a political commercial. Do you have that in England and France? I've no idea. I'm so, provincial.

WHEN THE PARTIES GO AFTER EACH OTHER.......

For starters, When Bill was in office, the Republicans weren't happy. PS* He was the only president who balanced the budget, but why should that matter?* another digression.
So, they wanted dirt. They looked under a lot of rocks and they found dirt. Who doesn't have dirt? I do. I can't keep up with the cleaning and I admit, I have made some doozy mistakes in my life.  Thank God no one cares. That's why I keep a low profile. I mean like, if 50 people have looked at this blog, that's low. Right?

So, Ken Starr was the appointed independent council to investigate the Clintons. I think it was related to White Water, Paula Jones and Vince Foster. It doesn't matter. They would have found something.  What matters was that Mr. Starr had a huge hard on for Bill. (I'm glad he didn't go after Nixon.+ That would have been too gross even for me to write. but you can think it). +if you don't recall, his nickname, was tricky Dick.

So, if memory serves, he did get to impeach Clinton which was annoying and didn't really change anything. Except maybe lots of lost hours and 40 million dollars over the course of two years.

That's right. I remember the joke. Ken Starr got $40 million dollars and all he ended up with was a lousy suit. Probably, that's not quite the quote, but is the shoe fits.

I did look up whose money it was. On this I felt I needed to fact check. This is how the independent counsel was explained in an old CNN article. I consider them to be a very reliable source.  The expenses by the ind. counsel are governed by the federal courts and then passed to the justice department for payment. I stopped there.  Basically, the counsel spends money, then hands it over to other officials who pass them on to other officials to pay. Nice.
maybe we should pay our soldiers the $20.5 million for risking their lives.

The most recent investigation also took two years. I wonder if there's a time limit. Anyway, it has been reported that the Republicans spent, get this, 20.5 million dollars to probe into what happened in Benghazi.

This figure came from  an online paper called "Politic USA" and was corroborated by another paper called the Observer.

I'M SURE YOU'LL BE HAPPY TO KNOW THIS FIGURE EXCEEDS THE ENTIRE BUDGET FOR THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE. No wonder they can't get anything done. They are underfunded.

Much to their disappointment, they found out that Hillary didn't do anything wrong. Wow. If we'd only listened to the initial hearings, we might not have had to spend so many millions of dollars.
um. did anyone remember to close the window?

WHAT ELSE DO GOVERMENTS WASTE OUR MONEY ON?

My favorite American trick, is that we call "the Federal Reserve Bank".
That makes it sound like it's owned by the USA.  It's not. It's a private bank. And if you think about it, they set the interest rates. The are the ones who are asked for predictions about the economy. Mm.  Any time we get money from the Federal Reserve, we are borrowing it. That's right. We have to borrow our own money. Well, we don't have our own money I guess, except then what happens to all the money they, the government, collects? Oh, I guess we have to pay it back the Fed. And anyone else we have borrowed from .

What is the Federal Reserve Bank?

A Federal Reserve Bank is a regional bank of the Federal Reserve System, the central banking system of the United States. There are twelve in total, one for each of the twelve Federal Reserve Districts that were created by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.[1] The banks are jointly responsible for implementing the monetary policy set forth by the Federal Open Market Committee, and are divided as follows:  I left that out. Who cares.  This part I had to search for.

How much does it cost the US to get money from the Feds?

Cost per denomination$1 & $2 notes= 5.2 cents per note
$5 & $10 notes = 8.5 cents per note
$20 & $50 notes =9.2 cents per note
        $100 note = 7.7 cents per note

*This information came from a site called, well read it yourself.

*G.Lee Inc. Presents "The Hidden Truth".

If that's not a coincidence of really weird proportion, I don't know what it. Even though it's not quite my real name. Still.  Sorry. I have to dash.

It's 24 hours later, but you don't know that. I want to finish this, but I am fuming. We had a heavy downpour last evening and this morning I went out to post a birthday card and our huge cacti was falling over, really badly. I thought  I could  right them  myself, but alas, I'm a lass and made it worse. So I asked my husband for emergency help.

These are 3 trunks semi propped up

this is near the bottom where I tried to put them back in and keep them from toppling. Oy.

He did come out. I was frantic. I had an extra support I thought would work. He helped me out. Somewhat. You know, when you know, when someone's reluctant to be doing something. Right? So, I thought I'd gotten a handle on it and said" Thank you very much". I meant it sarcastically, but he left. And boom. The third trunk fell over and I didn't know what to do. Long story short, I jury rigged it with some hose protectors. I don't know what they're called. You stick them in the ground so when you water, your hose doesn't trample the flowers.

So. I am pissed. I told him I was upset. So he said, "well you said thank you and I wanted to get back to my coffee and morning routine."  I said something about knowing where I stood on that list. He told me I let him know he was done. So what was I bitching about? I just walked away.  I don't want to say anything I'll regret. They say that's important in marriage. Never say mean things. Like you're a selfish *(&^!.  I wouldn't want to hear it, so I won't say it.

WHERE THE HELL WERE WE?

At this juncture, I'm sure you get the point. Our governments spend money they don't really have, keep borrowing to pay the bills that are due, tax us to pay their debts, raise interest rates to pay more debts. No, they ask the Fed to raise interest rates. And then. They blame everyone else.

it's a bit small to read, but I wouldn't believe it anyway.
It's exactly like a parent and child. They model bad behavior and when the child does the same thing, the parent punishes the child. My dad used to love to say, "Do as I say, not as I do".  Pearls of wisdom. Thankfully, I didn't do as he did nor as he said.

THEORY:  the rich get rich and the poor get poorer. THE RICH SET IT UP SO WE FIGHT EACH OTHER AND NOT THEM.

None of this is new, or news. I've lived long enough to know that. I have also studied history. In this year of a presidential election, they are saying, "let's make this country great again".  Did they not read the classic "The Rise and Fall of the Roman  Empire"?

I can't tell anyone what to do or what will help. I keep waiting for someone from the European/Anglo nations to revolt. Not that in the past it has really done much. So, if what has worked in the past comes again, there will be scape goats.

MY SINCERE, BUT TO YOUR EARS, PROBABLY RIDICULOUS SOUNDING ADVICE:

1. I do not recommend if you can't fight them, join them. Never join them. They are very wrong.
2. Live your life in your own circle. Create it and live in it. I'm not suggesting a fantasy world. Just a circle of family and friends who you love and enjoy.
3. Try not to listen to the news unless it's the weather and there might be a hurricane or tornado on the way.
4. If you can't change it, ignore it.
5. If you can change it, go for it. Don't be discouraged or disappointed. You did your best.
6.Don't hurt, or take advantage of other people because it's wrong. Do your best to be a moral person.
7. Don't take candy from strangers. Even if it is chocolate .

IS THINKING YOU'RE IN LOVE, THE SAME AS FEELING YOU'RE IN LOVE? IF NOT, DOES IT MATTER?

I am not even going to try to attempt to define or explain "love". For the purpose of this post, I will focus on the notion of "romantic love".

Renee Descartes has been quoted as saying, "I think, therefore, I am".

Well, I'm quite certain my dog Chloe, didn't think. Does that mean "she wasn't"?
or since she couldn't think, she didn't  Exist?

I suppose, for humans, thinking is somehow linked to being. In one of my psych texts, there are 22 listings for cognition (the fancy word for thought or thinking). It's one of the things in psychology that has been heavily researched. Don't get me wrong. That doesn't mean they know didly squat, but they are at least working at understanding it.

In the text book, PSYCHOLOGY making connections, by Feist & Rosenberg,  defines cognition as:
Mental processes involved in acquiring, processing and storing knowledge.

It defines feelings as: not listed. Instead, I went to emotions.   Wow. There were 43 sub-topics here. Does that mean they know more about emotion than cognition?  Beats me.

Back to a definition: Brief, acute changes in conscious experience and physiology that occur, in a personally meaningful situation.

It also states the psychological use of the term affect refers to a variety of emotional phenomena, including, emotions, mood, and affective traits.

Moods are, transient fluctuations and tend to last longer than most emotions. Huh?

Affective traits are stable, predispositions toward certain types of emotional responses, such as anger. Would that make love an affective trait? Again. Don't know.

An aside. I used to know this stuff. Not by heart, but I knew it. Looking at it now give me pause. Why does everything have to be so damned complicated?

Although, if I think of love as an emotion, it's no surprise, given the definition of emotion, why there is so much drama surrounding it. It's acute and brief. It's related to moods.

My current definition of romantic love is an acute, unstable mood that affects you consciously and physiologically in a meaningful situation.

Is that okay with you? It makes as much sense as the rest of this stuff. I'm okay with it until they bring in the part about a meaningful situation. Where does that fit in? But, I shall go on.

THINKING YOU'RE IN LOVE:

According to our definition, this means you are  experiencing a mental process involved in acquiring, processing and storing knowledge.

Meaning?  Your thoughts are processing what you believe you know about the person you are, .... what?  Thinking about loving?  Or, maybe that brief, emotional change in your conscious experience about a particular person, has triggered a thought process about the person so you will be knowledgeable about him or her.

So, would you react differently to someone saying, "I think I love you" or to saying, "I love you".  That's about as close as I can get to showing there is a difference. The psychobabble was not helpful.

This was certainly not what I had in mind when I thought of this topic.

To me, thinking is a calculated process that involves decision making and is supposed to be devoid of emotion.  It it's not an emotional response, my question really was, more like,   could you think you loved someone, base on facts rather than emotions?

I'VE A FEELING, I'M FALLING IN LOVE:

At least on one thing, I'm clear. Thoughts don't involve emotions.  It seemed to say that, but I'm confused. And if I'm confused, and I'm the expert, oh boy!

I'm going to go out on a limb, and say that everyone who reads this has been in love. Or thought they were in love?  How did you figure out the difference?
I'm guessing it's in hindsight. While you are in love, you are feeling in love.
If it goes south, as it often can, when looking back, you may say you only "thought" you were in love. Or, you may have a very broken heart and be feeling bereft.

I can't go with the definitions here. True, it is a physiological experience. Your heart palpitates. You may feel flushed. If there's lust involved, which if it's romantic, for your sake, I hope there is, you will feel tingles in your sexual regions. Which, are actually all over your body. Another topic.

You can't stop "thinking" about the person. Or should that be feeling?  I can't say.

BIG PSYCOLOGICAL QUESTION!

WHAT COMES FIRST? THOUGHT OR EMOTION?

I remember when I was teaching psychology, only four years ago, there was, at least in the text book I was using, no definitive answer. I recall the three possibilities that at the time were hypothesized.

The last edition I have of that book was 2010.  I remembered one of the names and was able to find the page. It's in Introduction to Psychology: GATEWAYS TO MIND AND BEHAVIOR   by Coon & Mitterer.

I believed they all happen at the same time. I think of a situation.  A tiger charging at you.

IMAGINE:   You're minding your own business and out of nowhere, a huge tiger is yards away, staring you in the face.

The response your body/mind has is:

1. Your arousal system says, oh crap. Fear. Tiger. Run.
2. Your Thalamus  kicks your nervous system arousal in gear, you run because you're feeling fear.
3. Your arousal system says, oh "there's a tiger. I should be afraid." Your behavior says, run.

4. You shit your pants and the Tiger leaves because your behavior disgusted him.

See. I told you before that humor is very important.

my hypothesis:

You cannot separate thoughts and feelings. Or cognitions and emotions. Or egg whites, but that just may be me.

CONCLUSION:

It doesn't matter if you think you love someone, or you feel you love someone or know you love someone. In either case, your life may be enhanced or possibly wrecked. Love will affect you regardless of how it is labeled or comes about.

Lastly, to quote Milton, who it was, I believe, said,

"  'tis better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all."

And I bet we all have the scars to prove it. Have a beloved day.

NUDE BEACHES. YAY! OR NAY? HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN NOW MUCH I LOVED GOING TO THE BEACH?

Isn't the beach a beautiful place? This was taken at Blind Creek, Hutchinson Island in Saint Lucie County Florida.  It's a "clothing optional" section.

I only took my phone for photos. It's a good thing. The heat and sand would have ruined my good one. As it was, in the sun, all I could see in the iPhone was my face and I wasn't shooting selfies. I was also afraid if I showed up with a big ass camera, the nudies would get concerned. Just saying.  I was lucky to get some decent shots.

What on earth was I doing there?  Well, my husband loves fishing. And he's gotten into surf casting rather than his usual fishing over the past few weeks. He gets up at an ungodly hour and scoots out and goes to different beaches to try his luck.

The spots  he'd been going to weren't "hitting" so well, so, he was told about this spot. He always wants me to come with him and I decided it was time.  Hmm. Was the fact that it was a "special" beach a factor?

Being time, refers to the fact that, I've been living in Florida for 11.5 years and have not to been to the or a, beach, in a bathing suit in, uh, 11.5 years.  I have perhaps on a half dozen occasions, ended up at the beach, fully clothed and have walked on the sand a bit.  While I was there this week, I thought back on all the times I had spent at the beach when I lived in New York, and it was unbelievable that it had taken me this long. Another digression. We are not close to any beach. We live half way between the intercostal bridges that can get us there. The trip is about 40 minutes. The pool in my house is, well, a lot closer.

THE TITLE TOPIC: NUDE OR CLOTHED
That was when we first moved here. Great furniture.  But notice my little Chloe checking me out. God I miss her.

This was not the first time I had been to a nude beach. I remembered this while on the beach, watching the mostly male sunbathers start to saunter in.  We got there at 7:15 am, and it wasn't exactly crowded. Yet.

There was a section of beach on Long Island that was unofficially for nude bathing. I think it might have been Riis Park, but it's so far back that I can't recall. At that time of my life, I was married to Shraga, husband #1 and our best friends were Lisa and Gil.  We used to go to the beach every nice week end during the summer. For a short time we went to this place. We were in our late 20's and wanted peace and quiet.  That meant avoiding families who generally did not go to nude places.  So, since families didn't go there, we did.

The last time we went, Lisa and I were lying on our blanket, and looked up to see a heavy set man, in bathing trunks, sitting on the edge of our space. He had his legs splayed open and it was not a pretty site. All I remember is large, fat ugliness. Whether we ignored him or Lisa yelled, I can't say.  After that, we went to Long Beach and dealt with families.

WHY NAKED?

So, what would make someone want to walk around naked? In public?
Of course I have several theories.

There is not one type of person who falls into this category. Several types would.

I'm going to list them, in order, that may be what I think, is top to bottom, no pun  intended.

I would imagine there have been many studies on this subject. For two reasons I am not going to do any research on my own.

First, this is MY blog and I want to be the expert. So there. Secondly, I cannot imagine, nor do I want to see, the images that would come up if I wrote in these words into a search. As it is, when I do look things up, with what I know are not sexual topics, the images I get are almost always include X-rated pix that have nothing to do with what I'm looking for.  So, I will just be sharing my thoughts.

1. Exhibitionists.

Dictionary: a.Tendency to call attention to oneself to show off one's talents, skills, etc. b. Psychologically - a tendency to expose parts of the body that are conventionally concealed.
It wasn't in  the subject index of either of the two intro to psych texts.  It would no doubt, be in the abnormal psych book. You have to continue studying to get to the good parts.

Anyway, for people with healthy self esteem, wanting to show your talents or skills is normal. Wanting to show your artist skill, singing, dancing, whatever your God given talent is, is what people should do. We love watching talented people do their thing. Think Idol, Can you dance etc.

The next part, the psychology of it, really applies in this case. I don't think that having a penis, vagina or breasts, is a particular talent or skill. Well, you may be skilled with what you do with them, but  that, according to most societies is considered private. And if you like watching that kind of thing, Lord know there are places for you to find them.

Back to the beach. What then would entice a person to exhibit themselves in public? Well, at least these people aren't going around flashing. However, I don't quite get it.  If you think you look nice naked, and want to be seen, I can sort of understand the desire. The acting it out, not so much.

I probably should mention that this seems to be an American issue. I just remembered that when I went to Greece, women were often topless. I should add, at the beach. Women do not walk around Athens without tops. They did on the cruise I was on.

I only recall one woman who was lying on a chaise. She had large breasts and they were laying towards either side of her. Kind of like the way kids draw a bird in the sky. Two lines with a vee in the middle. Personally, I didn't find anything erotic or pleasing in the site. Again. That's just repressed old American me.

My husband and I got to the beach early, so we were nearly the only ones there. I sat near the entrance so I could go back and photograph the trail we'd come in on.

It was bloody hot. Even at 8 am, so I was up and down to the shore and was able to watch as the men came in. Middle aged to old, if I had to guess. I tried to not look or feel self conscious myself. They were pleasant and if I passed them, they said hello.

Actually, after a while, it almost seemed normal. I suppose that's not a good word. Usual? Anyway, I wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought I'd be.  And no. I stayed in my bathing suit.

Were these people exhibitionists?  I don't know. There was only one man who kept walking up and down the shore. He was probably an exhibitionist.  We left at 10:15 as I was fried to a crisp and had had enough. I didn't see much socializing. I didn't see people preening or attempting to eroticize the situation. So, maybe there's another reason?

NUDISTS:

I did try to look up one of the other topics. oh Lord. I am going to just write what I believe I've heard about nudists. It really is unconscionable what can come up on an innocent search for images. I hope parents are able to filter that out. It's really disturbing.

There are people who don't believe in wearing clothing. I first wrote they don't believe in clothing. That would be like saying I don't believe in water. I mean they know clothing exists, they just don't want to wear it. There is a difference and I have to be careful about my grammar.

They believe that it is more natural and comfortable to go around in the altogether. It's not a sexual thing, it's just a way of feeling natural.

I can understand this since I can say with certainly, my clothes annoy me. I have ranted about not being able to find comfortable, accurately sized clothes or shoes. Therefore, although I don't run about my house without clothes on, I can be comfortable without a bra and loose sundresses and not care how I look. The part about leaving the house unclothed is what I don't get.
one of these actually skittered across me on the blanket.  ich!

Starting with the beach. Who the hell wants sand and bugs up their bum and other crevices? Not me. And even in a bathing suit, you still manage to get some of that shit in your cracks.

And as I sit here, four days later, I am still itching from the bites I got. On my back, arms, legs and chest. None, however, where my bathing suit was.

It would be the same, I suppose to nudist camps as well. Grass, mud, bugs. Splinters if you're eating at a picnic table.

Well, I don't get it. I won't condemn it. It's just not for me.

WHAT IS THE MOTIVATION?

I can speak for the exhibitionist, I think. There may again be several different psychological profiles here.

One, is that the person really has great attributes and wants everyone to see them. I would suspect that this would come from a lack of self esteem in other areas of their lives, so they are trying to balance things out. Still, there should be more private ways to do that.
I hope this isn't indecent. It's too small for me to tell or read what it says.

For some, they may not have the goods, but again, the self esteem is low and they just want to be seen. Sometimes, that's the only way to get noticed. Or maybe they think so. And, I believe that all of us want to be noticed. Not for that, but in some way. People need attention and affirmation. Most of us look in other places.

Other's, perhaps, are looking for sexual experiences and may hope to make a hook up somewhere. Maybe others just go home and masturbate to the feelings that being naked created. Hopefully they go home.

And others, may just be comfortable in their own skin.

If you are really curious, I suggest that you do further research. Like I said, I saw enough to last me a while.

PS..   LOOKY LOOS.

Oh yeah. Why do people who are not going to be nude, go to the beaches to watch?  For every pot there is a lid, or so my mother said. For each person who wants to be seen, there is one who just wants to look. Perhaps they would like to be that free. Perhaps, it too, gives them masturbatory image's.

CONCLUSIONS:

I think that after all I've said, each of us has a bit of both in them.
Some of us are more exhibitionist than others, while others, are more voyeurs.
After all. What is watching the news? TV? Movies? Magazines? After all,  voyeurs are just watchers that we have given a special name to.

We, the watchers, are looking at the world and viewing it, and making judgements.  The people who put on the shows, do the writing, well they want to be seen. And it's been said, that each of us wants our 15 minutes of fame. Translate that to mean that even the watchers, want to be seen, even if just for a few moments.

COMMENTARY:

So, I'm glad there are nude beaches for people to go to. I'm also thankful that they are advertised as such so that people who do not want to go there don't get there accidentally.

It doesn't matter whether you think yay or nay. The fact is, it's a choice we can each make. And doesn't choice make life more interesting?

A MAN AND A PIG WALK INTO A BAR.......... WHAT MAKES US LAUGH? AND WHY?

I don't even know what language that is.

Humor. It's often in the top two of the list, of what women want in a man. I'm not familiar with men's lists, so I don't know where they would put it.    well maybe   *a small digression:  it probably has to do with T&A, looks, not having a "good personality"  and being a virgin. At least for him.

WHAT STARTED THIS QUEST?
Short and simple. I bought the music from the "Book of Mormon". My husband and I listened to it on the way to Tampa and we were aghast at the lyrics, innuendos and concepts. We were also laughing hysterically.  They were irreverent, insulting, provocative and raunchy. I later found out that Seth McFarland was involved. Enough said.

SOME OF WHAT PSYCHOLOGY SAYS.
*I will try to throw in some puns, humor etc. during the "drier" segments. I don't know if you'll laugh. I hope it's like a treasure hunt that forces you to read between the lines.
that is a trick to see if you will read stuff. Just call me trickster. But please, don't call me Tricky Dick. I HATED that man.

BACK TO LEARNING:

Every infant smiles. At three months they giggle and laugh at their parents. Probably  because they haven't figured out what these people are going to do to them later on in life, but maybe they also know something I don't. [which if you've noticed, is quite a lot]. They are probably thinking we are morons when we make faces at them and that's why they are laughing. Apparently the old "they are smiling because they have gas theory" has been ruled out. I would concur. Gas pains, notice they call them pains, do not make me laugh, so why would it do that to an infant?  What dumbcaph came up with that?

"Humor is a very complicated psychological response; it's multifaceted," Beins says. [I don't know who he/she, is/was, but the quote is from this Beins person.]

"Children have to learn about humor. As kids start getting a bit older, their humor becomes more sophisticated."
Yes. I have noticed that as children mature, farting jokes are no longer funny. Unfortunately, not everyone's sense of humor grows up.

Then Beins goes on to say,
"It becomes about separating incongruous events into humorous and non-humorous situations depends on many factors, including mood and what children learn from others." huh?

I remember incongruity from geometry. Are they referring to triangles and circles"? Alright. I am joking.

When something is incongruous it usually means that it doesn't fit in with what else is going on or what you expect to see.

What comes to mind is the movie Fantasia. There is one part where there are elephants dancing on their toes, wearing pink tutus. I just looked this up to get the picture, and apparently they were hypos. Or maybe the elephants weren't wearing tutus.  The music was lovely but I don't recall it at the moment. Apparently, recall is not my strong point at this moment in time.   I do think I recall that it was even more humorous when I saw it in College after having smoked something illegal. .Why did everything seem funny then?   But this is a serious Blog so I shall continue in educating whomever is reading this.

IF WE LEARN TO HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR, HOW COME SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T ONE?

OOPS. FIRST WE SHOULD DEFINE HUMOR.

According to one source,

Humor is a form of communication that is judged to be amusing and makes others laugh.

DO YOU AGREE? I CAN LIVE WITH THAT, BUT since THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF HUMOR, I'LL CUT AND PASTE WHAT OTHER SOURCES SAY. THEY ARE MOSTLY  FROM WIKI, WITH AN OCCASIONAL COMMENT FROM ME. WHICH IS REDUNDANT SINCE WHO ELSE WOULD BE COMMENTING?

There has not been a lot of research on humor. Most likely because it would not be easy to research.  I don't believe that scientists know where in the brain, humor resides. That is, if it is in any one area. Then, how do you define and measure it? The joke was funny on a scale of
1) not at all funny to 10) peed my pants?

However, the little that's been done, breaks humor down into three main types:

According to WIKI these are them. (great grammar, yeah?)

Relief theory:   Won't you be relieved when this technical shit is done?  Remember the commercial?  How do you spell R-E-L-I-E-F?  R-o-la-i-d-s. Maybe they should have given the Rolaids to the infants with gas.  Anyway, I thought that was funny.

Relief theory maintains that laughter is a homeostatic mechanism by which psychological tension is reduced. Humor may thus for example serve to facilitate relief of the tension caused by one's fears.  Laughter and mirth, according to relief theory, result from this release of nervous energy.   Humor, according to relief theory, is used mainly to overcome sociocultural inhibitions and reveal suppressed desires. It is believed that this is the reason we laugh whilst being tickled, due to a buildup of tension as the tickler "strikes". [I wonder who wrote this. Whilst? suppressed desires? It must be some Freudian]*
*me  Also, isn't responding to being tickled a physiological response?  I like the part about repressed and inhibited desires. That might explain all the sex jokes.

Superiority theory:

The superiority theory of humor traces back to Plato and Aristotle, and Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan. The general idea is that a person laughs about misfortunes of others (so called schadenfreude), because these misfortunes assert the person's superiority on the background of shortcomings of others. Socrates was reported by Plato as saying that the ridiculous was characterized by a display of self-ignorance.  For Aristotle, we laugh at inferior or ugly individuals, because we feel a joy at feeling superior to them.  * me again. or maybe we're just glad it didn't happen to us.

except for this example.

Incongruity theory:

Further information: ridiculousness  OH OH OH That's me. Dr. Ridiculous and I don't understand this type of humor. That would probably be incongruous. Yeah?

The incongruity theory states that humor is perceived at the moment of realization of incongruity between a concept involved in a certain situation and the real objects thought to be in some relation to the concept.
Since the main point of the theory is not the incongruity per se, but its realization and resolution (i.e., putting the objects in question into the real relation), it is often called the incongruity-resolution theory.
I'm not joking. I'm not quite sure what they mean. I think it's when you realize that something is out of place, or not in keeping with the reality of what's happening. Oh yeah. Maybe it's like the example with the rhinoceros's in tutus. Or maybe they were rhinelephance.  You're getting the drift now. Right? okay. Let's move on. Please.

WHAT'S FUNNY AND WHAT ISN'T?

This is where we can run into trouble. It appears that it's not just that there are three different types of humor. It seems that each individual has their own spin on what's funny or what's not.

what is the most universal type of humor?

The way I see it, that would be physical comedy. We'd call it slapstick. You know. When the guy slips and falls on a banana peel. My hypothesis on this is that wordless humor can be understood by anyone making it  universal. Which makes sense. I believe that even cavemen found things humorous, and although I cannot prove it, I do not think that caveman had  yet developed language. Humor is most likely a survival mechanism that is built into our genes.

Physical humor is the least subtle and easily understood. This, would suggest a sort of hierarchy in the development of humor and laughter.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WORDS ENTER?

Well, for starters, there is a different cognitive level at work. Words can have more than one meaning. They can be said in varied ways. The way one says a word can change it's meaning. I believe that in Chinese, the inflection can change the entire word. That's why email and texts can be so dangerous. Without the inflection or reading of the person's face, you are really clueless about the meaning or intent of the words.

Humor can also be different within cultures. I have a vague recollection that someone, years ago said that British jokes have, what we Yanks would call the "punch line" in the middle of the joke. This of course may have been thought because we can't understand British accents, especially if they're talking too fast or for the entire human race, if they are from Manchester. Then, all hope is lost for any understanding.

Yiddish humor is generally of a particular nature. Especially when using the example of a Jewish mother. I will tell an easy one.
Mrs. Gold bought her son Max two sweaters for his birthday. One brown and one blue. The next time Mrs. Gold saw her son, he was wearing the brown sweater. Mrs. Gold says, "what, you didn't like the blue one?"
If I have to explain, you are one of the people with no sense of humor, or no experience with Jewish mothers.

I don't have many black friends, but in my opinion, in the Black culture, making mother jokes is not going to get you laughs. More likely it will get you knocked out.

TO CONTINUE WITH THE LABELING OF TYPES OF HUMOR I WILL USE AN ARTICLE FROM PSYCHOLOGY TODAY. A WELL RESPECTED JOURNAL. (that was sarcasm)

Though humor is essentially social, how you use it says a lot about your sense of self, at least according to the article.

Put-Down Humor - I'm assuming they are referring to the type of jokes that make fun of other people.  I guess they would include sarcasm, but I'm not sure. They did. I checked back. Also ridiculing people, so since I'm Dr. Ridiculous, I have to ask myself if I ridicule people. I would disagree. I prefer to ridicule myself, which they talk about later.

Bonding Humor -   Me, I thought this was humor about S & M, although I'm not able to tell one off the top of my head.  So,

I had to quote them, because it really didn't say anything specific. Like if you tell dirty jokes, is that going to bond you. People who use bonding humor are fun to have around; they say amusing things, tell jokes, engage in witty banter and generally lighten the mood. These are the people who give humor a good name. They're perceived as warm, down-to-earth and kind, good at reducing the tension in uncomfortable situations and able to laugh at their own faults.

Hate-Me Humor-  Self-criticism or if you have a high brow vocabulary, self-deprecating humor.  This is related to self-defecating humor. Did you laugh? Or did you not think that was funny.

it doesn't exactly fit, but I had it on hand.

Laughing At Life - This means you don't take life too seriously and can see the world and make jokes about it that aren't offensive. Or at least that's what I think they mean.

I don't think this is offensive and it shows us laughing at life. Ha Ha.

conclusion because it's late and I'm going to bed.

hypothesis:

Some days are like a bad joke. Some days are fun. Some days are neither. Regardless of the kind of day, humor can always make it better. Laughter is a gift you can give that doesn't cost anything and will give you a lot back.
Unless, you're in a public venue and you steal someone else's material. Then you will be in big trouble for copy write infringement and you'll need a lawyer.

If I could remember any, now would be a good time for a lawyer joke. But I'm really tired. So, I shall quote two of my old favorite comedians.
George. "Say goodnight Gracie,"  Gracie, "Goodnight Gracie."
