I KNOW IT'S A LITTLE LATE, BUT MAYBE WE COULD GET OPRAH TO THROW HER HAT IN THE RING.

Normally, I don't like to get into politics. People, and I am one of them, are so seriously tied to their opinions that they might kill someone for not agreeing with them.
So why am I so openly writing, so many posts?


The answer, I believe, is FEAR.

To what level has our nation sunk that people are so unbelievably polarized?
I don't know why. I have no valid reason for disliking Hillary, but I certainly understand why other people feel that way. And, for many things, they are not wrong.
I don't understand Trumps appeal, and that's on me.

Well, maybe I do but the thing is, that I'm scared about this election because one of them is going to win. Probably?

I keep thinking that something will occur and  it won't be these two people.

So this morning, a solution flew into my head. Let's draft Oprah.

Okay. Those of you who are not particularly liberal might not understand why I thought she would be a good choice.

How about the facts.

• She's a very intelligent person.
• She has amazing interpersonal skills and is a very good negotiator.
• She is already wealthy and has, I'm sure, excellent fiscal understanding and skills
• We already know everything about her, so there shouldn't be any sudden revelations throwing a monkey wrench into her bid.
• She is a reasonable person, and although she may have her own values, is open to listening to others and is capable of changing her mind.
• She would also have to deal with both houses and Congress, so it's not like she can make her own decisions and --- boom. They're done.

  And for those of us so inclined, we can still get a WOMAN for president.

So what do you think?

 Maybe by the time she's finish running the country, we might be capable of choosing candidates who are worthy .

JIMMY CARTER WAS THE LAST HONEST PRESIDENT THE UNITED STATES HAD. THINK ABOUT THAT AND DID HIS HONESTY MAKE US A STRONG COUNTRY?

 

 

 

Who remembers the last honest president of the United States?

It was Jimmy Carter. It wasn’t that long ago. Surely both Donald and Hillary remember him. Hell, they must have met him. And if you recall, things did not go so well with Dr. Carter at the helm.

Why do I bring this up now?

It seems that our candidates are both very dishonest, and each one keeps on telling us that we can’t trust the other one.

So, my question is, what has honesty got to do with being a good ruler?

Theory: We hold our public servants up to standards that they cannot possibly fulfill because we want someone who is better than we are to rule.

 

This makes sense. I would not make a good leader. Well, not of that many people. And we should want someone who is capable of ruling. But what requirements do they need?
 

And then some.

 

HYPOTHESIS: Today, I don’t give a rat’s ass. We all aren’t honest, faithful, generous nor many of the other qualities that we demand from our candidates.  So why the fuck are we buying into all this shit?

      

 

I believe it was Jesus who said “Let he among you who is without sin, cast the first stone.”

 

A REQUEST FROM A RETIRED PROFESSOR.

Look inside your hearts. Why do you bear such animosity towards the candidate you don’t want? Is it possible to clear out the emotions and think with a rational mind at the choice you have to make?

 

We may not have the choices we would want. However, we are at the moment stuck with them. So.

 

This is a really important decision. Please think about it. Make lists of pros and cons for each person.

 

Yes, I have a preference. No. I am not asking you to see things my way.

 

I’m just asking you to really, really look inside your hearts, as I am doing, because this time, the decision is more important than ever.

 

Take out the mudslinging and ask. Who has the qualifications to lead a country? Hell, what are the qualifications to lead a country?

I wish I could find one that was large enough to read. You can look it up online.
